Shadow of the Tomb Raider review: It’s the end of the world, and Lara doesn’t feel okay. Amazon has made some noise in the past couple of years, but it has essentially been in the multiplayer game market.
Amazon Games Tomb Raider Development
Amazon has either developed multiplayer games in the house (like the MMO New Wold) or published other developers’ multiplayer games. Previous hits from Amazon, like the hugely popular translation of the South Korean title, lost Ark, have targeted the same types of people who spend their time connecting with multiplayer communities on Twitch.
The press release says that the new Tomb Raider will feature “control of the confident, multidimensional heroine Lara Croft in an open world environment that encourages exploration and creativity,” It will be designed for people who enjoyed the previous three games in the reboot trilogy.
It will be built using Unreal Engine 5 and is supposedly early in its production cycle, so there may not be any news until late 2023 at the earliest.
