In League of Legends, your Elo is the number that shows, with some approximation, how good you currently are compared to other players. The higher your Elo, the higher your LoL rank.
Keep in mind that your Elo is not always equal to your MMR. The second number is hidden and more relevant in assessing your skill level. You can find it only by using a LoL MMR checker.
Ways Of Increasing Your Elo In LoL
The objective of any LoL player is to increase their Elo. This gives them a feeling of progression and also a proof that they’re getting better at the game.
Of course, not everyone wants to do this. In fact, many veteran players, who have grown tired of competing against tough opponents from the top ranks, prefer to purchase League of Legends smurf accounts and rediscover the joy of playing just for fun.
But if you want to climb in rank and accomplish this by winning the majority of your games, here’s what you need to do:
Narrow Your Focus
Many LoL players compete for thousands of hours without making much progress because they try to do too many things at once. Your goal should be to decrease the number of elements that you need to master as much as possible and then focus on them one by one.
Choose a role and then a set of champions that you want to be good at. Play an entire day or even an entire week using just one champion until you’ve figured out an effective way to play that champion. Learn all the important combos, item builds, and timings. Learn the most important lane match-ups.
Learn How To Win Fights
In League of Legends, everything boils down to your ability to defeat the enemy team during the middle portion of the game. Whoever wins the important fights wins the game in most cases.
All your levels and items are useless if you don’t know how to put them to optimal use. A team is not guaranteed victory just because it has a networth advantage. You need to know how to deal damage and how to avoid getting killed in fights if you want to turn your resource advantage into a real advantage.
Train With Intent
This is one of the most important things that you must do to become a better LoL player and increase your Elo. Most players just play the game casually. They don’t do it focusing on something they want to get good at and they don’t care about the mistakes they made.
You must do the exact opposite. Watch your replays, take notes, and figure out what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong. Study the playstyle of the best competitors in the world. Learn all the combos. Experiment with different timings and item builds.
All of these things will help you to become a much stronger player.
Develop Map Awareness
MOBA games can be quite demanding, in the sense that there is a lot you must do and pay attention to. Because of this, beginners tend to lose track of time, team objectives, or enemy movement. They simply never look at the minimap, when they should check it every 3-5 seconds.
Without map awareness, your decisions will be poor. When you play League of Legends, you make dozens of decisions each minute.
Good decisions require you to be well-informed of your team’s situation and also of your opponent’s situation. If you don’t check the minimap and the map as a whole, or if you never click on an enemy champion to see what items they’re building, you will play blind and make major mistakes.
