Waterfall Rules: Game Guidelines and How to Play

Players take turns drawing cards from a deck and following the designated actions for each card.

The Waterfall rule operates like a synchronized drinking challenge.

The player who initiates the waterfall starts drinking first, and then each subsequent player begins drinking sequentially.

No one is allowed to stop drinking until the player directly before them has finished. 

Consequently, you might drink longer than expected if the person ahead of you takes their time.

Ace – Waterfall: The player who draws this card initiates the waterfall by starting to drink. Each player to their left then begins drinking in sequence. No one can stop drinking until the person ahead of them has finished, allowing for a continuous cycle of drinking.

2 – Take Two: The player who draws this card must take two drinks.

3 – Take Three: The player who draws this card can distribute three drinks to any player.

4 – Fours Are for Whores: All female players must drink.

5 – To the Right: The player to the right of the card drawer must drink.

6 – Six Is for Dicks: All male players must take a drink.

7 – Never Have I Ever: The player who draws this card must state something they have never done. Anyone who has done it must drink.

8 – Sentences: The player who draws this card starts by saying a word. The next player to their right adds a word to form a growing sentence. This continues around the table, with each player adding a new word. If someone makes a mistake, they must drink.

9 – Rhymes: The player who draws this card says a word, and the next player must say a word that rhymes with it. This continues around the table until someone fails to devise a rhyme, and they must drink.

10 – Thumbs Rule: The player who draws this card places their thumb on the table. Everyone else must do the same. The last player to place their thumb on the table has to drink.

Jack – Social: Everyone at the table must take a drink.

Queen – Beer Bitch: The player who draws this card is responsible for refilling everyone’s drinks.

King – Rules: The player who draws this card creates a new rule everyone must follow. Anyone who breaks this rule has to drink. For example, you might ban certain words like “drink,” “drunk,” or “drank.”

The Waterfall drinking game is excellent for kicking off a lively party.
