Space or the jump button gets you over the first cactus. Duck under the birds.

The game you only find when something breaks

This one runs inside a white clay shell with the dino and every cactus moulded from violet putty. No connection, a grey error page, and a small dinosaur standing at the left edge doing nothing. Press space once and it starts moving, and suddenly the broken wifi is somebody else’s problem.

The version above skips the disconnection requirement. Same rhythm though: one button to jump, one to duck, and a speed curve that turns a relaxed jog into a panic somewhere past four hundred metres.

What actually kills you

Cactus clusters come in ones, twos and threes, and the triple stack is wider than a single jump looks like it should clear. It does clear it, but only if you leave the ground about a body length early. Most first deaths happen on a triple around the two hundred mark.

Birds show up after 320 metres and fly at two heights. The low ones you jump, the high ones you duck under, and mixing those two up is the classic way to end an otherwise good run. Holding duck also drops you faster mid air, which is a legitimate way to squeeze under something you jumped too early for.

Night mode

Every 420 metres the palette inverts. Nothing changes mechanically, the cacti are the same size and the birds fly at the same heights, but the contrast shift throws your timing off for a second or two. You can also force the flip yourself with the button if you prefer the dark background.

Runs and rough benchmarks

Under 200 means you are still learning the jump arc. Between 500 and 900 is a solid casual score. Anything past 1200 and the obstacle spacing is coming at you faster than reaction time, so you are pattern reading rather than responding.

If you want a different flavour of arcade

The endless runner shares DNA with google snake game, where the danger is also something you build yourself. google block breaker and space invaders google both give you something to shoot at instead of run from, and zerg rush is the one for when you want pure clicking. The full list lives at google easter eggs.

Controls in one line

Space or up arrow to jump, down arrow to duck, on screen buttons do the same thing, and tapping the canvas jumps on mobile.
