Is Csgo Cross platform

CSGO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) is really famous on computers. But not many know it came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 too in 2012. Still, you can’t play together across PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Let’s check out what’s up with playing together in CSGO  and what to keep in mind when playing with pals.

Is CSGO Crossplay?

CSGO doesn’t let players play across different platforms. Even though you can play it on PlayStation and Xbox, you can only join servers with people on your own platform.

But if you’re playing on PC or Mac, you can play together in the same games, including with those streaming the game using GeForce Now or something similar.

Does CSGO have progress sharing (Cross Progression)?

Valve doesn’t provide progress sharing for CSGO. But if you switch to a new PC, your progress will move with you. Just log in with your Steam account on the new PC, and all your stats, gear, and other stuff will still be there.

Why Choose PC for Playing CSGO?

While you can play CSGO on Xbox 360 and PS3, those versions are pretty old now. They haven’t had updates or been moved to newer consoles. They seem almost like different games compared to the PC version.

That’s why it’s best to play CSGO on PC. Since it launched in 2012, the game has gotten tons of updates, making it super polished. Plus, it’s free to play on PC, so just download and start playing without spending any money.

Valve’s famous shooter has pretty low minimum requirements, so most gamers can play it on their current setup. You’ll just need 15GB, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, plus 256MB video card compatible with DirectX 9.

Basically, almost any modern computer can handle it. And if you have a gaming laptop or PC, even if it’s old, it can handle the game easily.

What’s Going on With CSGO on Console?

In a nutshell, not much. Valve hasn’t updated the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions of Counter-Strike for years. Both had problems when they came out, and Valve stopped fixing them to concentrate on the PC version, which is super popular.

There aren’t any signs that they’re going to bring the games back, so don’t expect to see CS: GO on Xbox Series X or PS5. Barring any surprises, Counter-Strike will stay a big deal on PC, with little chance of getting a fresh start on consoles.

Although CSGO is accessible on multiple platforms, crossplay is restricted, preventing console players from participating in matches alongside PC gamers.

This limitation may disappoint players seeking more inclusive gaming experiences, but CS: GO persists in focusing on its established approach to gameplay.
