Does anyone know if the PlayStation 5 console has the ability to play regular DVDs? I have a collection of DVD movies that I'd like to be able to watch on my PS5 if possible.Some additional details that could be helpful:
- I know the PS5 can play Blu-ray discs, but I'm specifically asking about standard DVDs.
- My previous PS4 could play DVDs, so I'm hoping the PS5 kept this functionality.
- If it matters, I have the disc edition of the PS5, not the digital-only version.
Any insights from those who own a PS5 would be appreciated! Let me know if you've tried playing DVDs on it successfully or if you've heard whether this is supported. Thanks in advance!

Yes, the standard PS5 can play regular DVDs. Just insert the DVD into the disc drive, and it will start playing. However, the PS5 Digital Edition cannot play DVDs since it lacks a disc drive. If you have the disc edition, you’re good to go!
