Is War Thunder 2 Crossplay?

Since its introduction in 2013, War Thunder has been a go-to choice for enthusiasts of online military combat, offering a unique experience beyond other titles like World of Tanks and World of Warships. 

Now, players will be able to enjoy it on the next console generation, as the game is set to debut on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X next month.

Over the weekend, developer Gaijin Entertainment confirmed that the game will receive dedicated next-gen versions in mid-November, coinciding with its upcoming major content update, New Power. 

Is War Thunder 2 Cross-platform?

Additionally, Gaijin assured players that War Thunder will retain its full crossplay functionality on next-gen consoles, a feature achieved this year after the developer criticized Sony for impeding crossplay between PS4 and Xbox One players.

In addition to crossplay, the upcoming New Power update will unveil a revamped iteration of War Thunder’s Dagor Engine. This overhaul promises improvements across almost all aspects of the game’s visuals, including detailed features like tank tracks leaving impressions on grass and aircraft piercing through clouds. 

Moreover, the next-gen editions will boast a 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. At the same time, the PC version will benefit from DLSS technology support, ensuring a more seamless and polished graphical experience.

Gaijin Entertainment hinted at additional surprises in the update and assured players that a comprehensive breakdown of its new features would be provided in the days ahead. 

Meanwhile, players can keep exploring innovative tactics for victory, such as the recent strategy of maneuvering War Thunder’s tanks in reverse.

While War Thunder is free on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, players on PS5 and Xbox Series X can expect to join the fight in mid-November.
