For those unfamiliar with the source material, The Thing: Remastered is based on John Carpenter’s legendary 1982 horror film. The original game, released in 2002, earned praise for capturing the movie’s paranoid atmosphere and tense gameplay mechanics.
Nightdive Studios has built quite a reputation for breathing new life into classic games. Their previous work includes successful remasters of System Shock and Turok, making them well-suited for this project.
This release continues the recent trend of classic horror games getting modern makeovers, joining the ranks of Dead Space Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake in bringing beloved horror experiences to contemporary audiences.
