The PlayStation VR2 Launch Date Is February 22, 2023. Over 20 new game titles will launch with Sony’s latest virtual reality headset.
PlayStation VR 2 will be released in early 2023 for $499.99 / €569.99 / 549.99 / 7,990 yen. Users who already own a PS4 system can register for an invitation by going to https://www.playstation.com/en_us/news/psn/invite/.
The essential PSVR2 bundle includes the PSVR2 headset, the two PlayStation Move motion controllers, and the stereo headphones.
You’ll get a Horizon Call of the Mountain PS4 game when you buy the Horizon Call of the Mountain Horizon Pack at a discount.
Sony’s next VR heads is significantly improved, with an OLED display and a 110-degree viewing angle.
Preorders for the PlayStation VR 2 will begin on November 15, 2022, and games, including Horizon Call of Duty: WW2, will also be available later this year.
The PSVR2 significantly improved over the original, with a higher resolution OLED display, a wider field of view, and native 4K HDR support. You’ll no longer need to rely on external camera setups, either.
Sony made a big deal about the PlayStation VR2 launch date features, including the ability to play games at 120 frames per second (FPS) to make them feel smooth. But some found that the improvements weren’t enough to justify the price increase. The PSVR2 costs $400, compared to $300 for the original version. That’s not bad if you’re already invested in PlayStation hardware, but it’s pricey compared to competing headsets.
There are currently around 500 PlayStation VR (PSVR) titles available, but Sony has only officially revealed a few of them. The titles confirmed for release include a new game from the same universe as Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West called Horizon Call of the Mountain.
Other titles include VR versions of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 4, No Man’s Sky, and Star Wars Battlefront 2. More titles are expected to be released before the end of 2023.
